I am pleased to welcome two new members to our club:

  • Jason Davidson: Jason is the owner M&M Meat shop at 120-7020 Francis Road.
  • Laurie Sewell: Laurie is the Constituency Assistant to our member the Honorable Linda Reid. Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.

LULU ISLAND MOMENT

 

Even though approximately one-third of the acreage in the centre of Lulu Island is peat bog, as early as the 1870’s the encircling lands, like those of the Fraser Valley, were already well regarded as ideal for agriculture and were available for homesteading,

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

  • Reminder of the Pathways Dinner October 2. We have 7 going . Well done.
  • Support for the Beer Fest has gone well. Thanks to Rotarian Wayne and Don.
  • The Book sale set up could use a few more hands on Friday October 4 at 1:30 at Thompson and on Sunday at 2:30 for clean up. Come and pick up a few books and spread literacy.
  • A request from the Dream Auction has come in for Saturday , November 30. They need spotters and help guarding the silent auction. More to come.
