“ Many obstacles to the expansion of good will have presented themselves”.

LULU ISLAND MOMENT:

The first two owners of land in Richmond came via Crown Grant claim in 1861.

Mitchell claimed land on Lulu Island in the area bounded by now Granville Avenue to the Middle Arm of the Fraser River, from No. 2 Road west to Lynas Lane.  Ross did the same from Cambie Road on the south to Bridgeport Road, from Garden City on the west to the Middle Arm of the Fraser River at the extension of NO. 3 Road.
