Rotary E-Club of Richmond, B.C.

Meeting of July 31st

ROTARY E CLUB OF LULU ISLAND  MEETING JULY 31st, 2013

WELCOME!

THE ROTARY PIN

The simple pin bonds us all together. The Rotary Pin should be worn every day on your lapel. It is there because we are proud to be Rotarians. Anywhere we go, people will see the pin and instantly recognize who you are. Other Rotarians anywhere in the world will see it and know that you are a friend, and people who are not Rotarians will see it as well. People will comment on the pin as many know and understand the meaning of the pin.

INSPIRATIONAL MOMENTS

“The higher the general average intelligence, all things else being equal, the less the disposition to be meddlesome, critical, and overbearing”.

“The less one knows, the more he thinks he knows, and the more willing he is to employ any and all measures to enforce his views upon others”.

"How strange it is that murder has the sanction of law in one and only one of the human relationships, and that is the most important of all, that of nation to nation”.

PAUL HARRIS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Dave Semple is now on the Board of Directors for the Maples  Seniors Residence in Steveston.  This is another group in our community that we could adopt as they could use our help. More to come.

LULU ISLAND MOMENT

Do you know why the Roads in Richmond are named No. 1 Road through No. 10 Road? Believe it or not, they were named in the order that they were applied for to be Gazetted. No.9 Road was changed to Steveston Highway. No. 13,14, 15, were on Sea Island.
